First Love.

I don't really think many people understand my true love and admiration for literature and reading. I think that's one of the largest reasons I love summer so much is because I have nothing but free time to hole myself up in my room and read as much as I can down in one sitting. Last summer when I lost contact with Carlos for a month while he was on tour and then later when we had broken things off for the time being, I dove into a different book every two days or so. I can't really explain why I love reading so much, but to be honest, sometimes I wonder why people say they hate reading... Especially people who don't have great home lives. Reading is such an escape, and much healthier than drugs and alcohol and parties and what-have-you. Not that I'm saying everyone with a damager life enters a world of substance abuse and habitual behavior.

In any case, it's only day three of summer and I've already thrown myself into reading. So far, I've got my favorite author's newest novel, Lock and Key, then I've got to read the necessary book for AP Englich Comp. next year which is A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. My stack is growing by the tens, so I'm hoping I can get all this reading done. I'm really excited. I don't know if I can honestly say there's much else I'm truly excited to do this summer besides reading. We'll see. :)
